Maybe You Know – Maybe You Don’t

For those on social media who may not know, the expression, “Nip it in the bud,” means to stop something soon after is has begun. This is an expression based on the literal meaning of nip, which means to cut the bud before it develops into a flower.* “Bastardization” of this idiom is, “Nip it in the butt.”**

So now you know.

Maybe some need to brush up on idioms before making a stab at using them online.
