Beautiful Autumn Places

All over the United States, trees dress in their beautiful colors during autumn. I have been privileged to view the spectacular beauty of forests in Michigan, Connecticut, New Jersey, Indiana, the Missouri Ozarks, and the Colorado Rocky Mountains. I never tire of the beauty.

During October drives on country roads to the town where I taught school in Michigan, it was difficult to keep my eyes on the road. The autumn colors there were breathtaking.

I wish I had more pictures of the beautiful places I have been, but I always knew the colors would return the next fall.

One special place I was privileged to visit when we lived in Indiana was Brown County. Striking autumn hues attracted thousands of tourists, as well as hundreds of artists and photographers, to the area.

Hubby, knowing of my love of all things Brown County, surprised me our last Christmas in Indiana with a beautiful 14” X 18” palette knife oil by artist, Judie Hurt. The date on the painting is 1972. The central image in the picture is the Brown County Bean Blossom covered bridge. This painting is a treasure, and one of the things I removed from our condo and located in a safe space when were evacuated during the Colorado Springs fire in 2012.
